Alice Lockhart

LOCKHART, ALICE - 1922 - 2013 - Alice Muriel Lockhart passed away peacefully on October 16, 2013 in her home in Bath, New Brunswick at the age of 91. She was surrounded by her family. Born on February 19th, 1922 in Regina, Saskatchewan to Tom and Mae Foster. She graduated from the Royal Victoria Hospital Nursing School in 1945 and married Dr. John Lockhart in 1946. Alice had many interests in her life that supported community and children including organizing music festivals, leading local Cubs groups, organizing minor hockey teams, and sitting on local and provincial library boards. Her love for the outdoors was shared by her family at their camps and she enjoyed watching a sunset or picking fiddleheads as much as she enjoyed a concert. She faced the later part of her life with a quiet dignity. As her physical world became smaller, she took great pleasure in the little things: her cat, watching the birds feed, going out for a drive and sitting outside to soak up sun. She especially enjoyed visits from family and friends who will miss her dearly. Alice was predeceased by her husband John (2007) and her three siblings; Maureen Lyons, Deirdre Tregear, and F/O Tom Foster (1944). She is survived by her four sons, 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; Tom and Mary Lockhart, Calgary, and children Julia, Ellen (and husband Norbert Palej), Emily, and Jessica; Stephen and Mary Lockhart, Midland Park, New Jersey and children Jonathan and Erika, Bruce and Susan Lockhart , Bath and children Ann, Kathryn (and husband Simon Tewes and daughter Finya), Louise, and Stuart; Colin and Joy Lockhart, Bristol and children Ransford (and wife Amy Howard), Gillian, and Jocelyn.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 21, 2013 at 10:00am from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Bristol Free Baptist Cemetery.
