It is with great sadness that family and friends regret to announce the sudden passing of Joseph Peter Hogan on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in New Waterford on March 31, 1948, he was the son of the late Louise (Brenna) and Cyril Hogan.
Joey spent most of his life in Toronto, relocating to the Harbourstone Enhanced Care facility in Sydney in 1999.
He is survived by his son, Rodney (Gwen); cherished granddaughters, Kierra, Abbey; brother, Ed (Nancy) and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Henry, Gus, Dennis and sister, Ann Louise and soulmate, Ruby Walsh.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford 862-7500. There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place. A celebration of Joey’s life will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. at McLellan Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Parish of Saint Leonard Hall, Convent Street.
