
Alma Gilchrist
GILCHRIST, ALMA - Alma Bernice Gilchrist passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Loch Lomond Villa Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. Born 1929 in St. Martins, NB she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Alberta (Davidson) MacDonald. Alma worked as a Telephone Operator in St. Martins, she was a member of the ACW, Orange Lodge and was an active member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church. She is survived by her son Paul Gillcrist (Sandra) of Orange Hill, NB; daughter Krista Beattie (Gary) of Fredericton; brother Roy MacDonald (Joyce) of St. Martins; cherished grandchildren Paul (Karen), Angie (Kevin), Benjamin, Brittany and Kent; great grandchildren Brayden, Emilee, Jaxon and Derek; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Gilchrist; son Michael Gillcrist; grandchildren Neely Gillcrist, Zachary Gillcrist and Kirk Beattie; brothers Clifford MacDonald and Eldon MacDonald; sisters Alice Brown, Lillian Smith, Inez King, Gladys Burchill, Mildred Langille, Mabel Washburn and Muriel King.
Resting at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Route 111, St. Martins, on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the church on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Mosher Hill Cemetery. In her rest she will finally return to her beloved St. Martins. Donations in memory of Alma made to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Fund, Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
