LEGER, BARBARA - Barbara Leger, 78, wife of the late Raymond Leger, of Caissie Street, Shediac, passed away on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2013 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born December 18th, 1934 in Saint-John, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Alice (Vautour) Vautour. Prior to her retirement, she was registered nurse with the Shediac Hospital, Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC and finished her nursing career with the Villa Providence, Shediac. She is survived by her two daughters: Rita Cassidy (Alain Desrosiers) of Shediac and Denise Hicks (Stephen) of Fredericton; two sons: Robert (Jocelyne) of Moncton and Maurice of Shediac; two sisters: Bernice Fougère of Bouctouche and Beatrice Leger St-Pierre (John Arsenault) of Cocagne; nine grandchildren: Julie, Kristine, Chelsey, Rebecca, Megan, Kyana, Darcy, Selena and Amy; one great-granddaughter, Mia; as well as several nieces and nephews. Barbara is also predeceased by a sister, Aline Doiron and three brothers: Maurice, Donald and Raymond.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 9:30am until time of departure. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph R.C. Church, Shediac, on Friday October 25th, 2013 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In memory of Barbara, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (oncology or palliative care) would be appreciated.
