Thomas Hall

Born In: Port Aurthur, Ontario, Canada
Born: April 10th, 1930

Known as Tom, born April 10, 1930 in Port Arthur, Ontario, his father and mother were Arthur and Tilly Hall. Arthur and Tilly had an acreage out from Port Arthur in an area called McKenzie where Tilly had some jersey cows and chickens. Tilly sold milk and eggs to make ends meet in the hungry thirties. While in McKenzie, some missionary ladies came and shared the good news about the love of Jesus - long story short Tillie believed on the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart- then she made sure that Tom and Ruth were taken to Sunday school and church. After some years on the farm the family moved to Port Arthur where Tom went to technical school and he learned some carpentry and woodworking skills. In 1945, Tilly received a call from her youngest sister Jayde in Dawson Creek who said she was not well and needed help. Tilly packed up Tom and his little sister Ruth and moved to Dawson Creek.
Once in Dawson Creek, Tom landed a job working with Compell and Manix surveying for the Pine Pass Highway. Later Tom worked on the Alaska Highway on the bridge building crew north of Whitehorse. When he came back to Dawson Creek, he decided to go to Edmonton Gospel Temple Bible School. During that time Tom met the love of his life, Esther May Myrholm, then a little later on the 4th of August 1951 they were married in Edmonton Gospel Temple before returning to Dawson Creek. Once home, Tom worked for Wilson Freightways and May worked as a telephone operator. Over the next years, they had 5 children and even helped raise a few more. Tom then started an excavating business putting in water and sewer services
I remember how Tom loved the country and his horses, his homestead quarter section by Bear Mountain. Tom had a good sense of humour and he liked to tease kids of all ages. He loved to visit and fellowship, telling stories and sharing life experiences along the way. I remember Tom as a faithful leader at Grandview Chapel where he was a founding member.
Tom dearly loved his family, which included 3 wonderful girls and 2 fine boys. Tom was predeceased by grandson Jessie Benjamin Bergen as well as his beloved niece Darlene (Haney) Langerud. He is survived and fondly remembered by his wife May Hall; children: Cindy (Rod) Bergen, Lorne Hall, Colleen (Greg) Patterson, Carolyn (David) Lindner, and Mark (Cindy) Hall; and his sister Ruth (Verne) Haney of Dawson Creek. He had 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were entrusted to Bergeron Funeral Services & Crematorium Ltd.,
