Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on October 24, 2013 in the presence of her loving family, Jean Elizabeth Knight-Hickman, age 87 years. Predeceased by parents Andrew and Annie Sullivan, first husband Maxwell Knight, second husband Reverend Fred Hickman and brother Leslie. Leaving to mourn her three children: Douglas (Shirley), Maxine (Wallace), Wayne (Agnes); her eight grandchildren: Paula (Rob), Penny (J.J), Jennifer, Lisa (Craig), David (Crystal), Cory (Alexandra), Amanda (Chad), and Gail; seven great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Devan, David, Aliyah, Lincoln, Max and Alison; sisters: Lucy and Grace; brothers: James (Jean deceased), John (Eileen), Herb (Jean), Francis (Elsie); sisters-in-law: Vera and Claire; brother-in-law Albert (Mildred). Also leaving behind a large number of nephews, nieces and family friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation taking place on Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th from 2-9 p.m. Funeral will take place on Sunday, October 27th from the Pouch Cove Memorial United Church in Pouch Cove at 2:00 p.m. with Interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Bauline Line. The family would like to thank the staff and management at North Pond Personal Home Care and St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their wonderful care and compassion they showed to our mother during her struggle with Parkinson’s. Also a special thanks to Dr. L. Rogers and Dr. P. O’Shea as well as Dr. T. Hall from North Pond Personal Care Home.
