It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Marilyn Grant, age 72, of River Hebert. Marilyn passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Saturday, October 19, 2013 with family by her side.
Born in Stellarton, NS, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Eva (Murphy) Foster.
Marilyn loved to play bingo, and especially loved supporting Toy Bingo at Christmas time. Her dog and cats brought her great joy. A loving wife and mother, she passed away only 10 days before her 52nd wedding anniversary.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Bernard Grant, East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash; daughter Deanna VanSnick; grandchildren, Amanda and Jason, all of Amherst; 3 brothers, Howie (Linda), Travis (Averial), Kenny (Linda); 2 sisters Emma (Huck) Gates and Patsy Brine; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sister Gloria Burke and brother In law Bernie Brine.
Friends and family will gather for visiting hours at the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Main Street, River Hebert on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 2 pm until 9 pm. The funeral service will take place from the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the River Hebert Cemetery.
