Isidore Aimé Gallant from Union Corner, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside. He was the beloved son of the late Nicholas (Anaclet) and Lucie (Arsenault) Gallant. Isidore, known as the "Sand Dollar Man of P.E.I.," leaves behind his wife Freda (Bernard) Gallant. He was the dedicated father of Jeannette (Randy) Gallant, Alvin (Nicole Savoie), Mariette (Brian) Dunn, Marcia (Ron) Cahill, Roland (Rebecca) and Rhéal (Allie). He was the very proud grandfather of: Robin, Nathan, André, Martin, Andrew, Christine, Kellina, Brendan, Nicholas, Evan, Alyssa, Gillian, Meghan and Hannah. He is also survived by and beloved brother to Leonard (Pat, deceased), Father Edmond, Zelica (Joe) Arsenault, Esther (Richard) Steele, Claire (Adrian) Bernard, Sister Rose Gallant, and Raymond (deceased) Marguerite. Brother-in-law to Ernest (deceased) (Cécile), Rita, Adrien (Claire), Hermine, Amand (Marie), Maria (Robert deceased), Léonce (deceased) (Florence), Ronald and Léona Bernard. With a heavy heart, he leaves behind his best friend of many years Roger Arsenault and (adopted daughter) Paulette Richard. Resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Tuesday, Oct. 29, then to the Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Church, Mont-Carmel, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. By personal request there will no visiting hours held. In lieu of flowers, donation on behalf of Isidore Gallant to any environmental and/or animal conservation causes would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff of the Prince County Hospital and Dr. Stewart for taking such good care of Isidore during his stay. May the STAR guide you, Isidore, to your next journey.
