After a full life, Irene Polupski (Schmunk) passed away in her sleep on Thursday, October 24, 2013. She was born on the homestead in Morse, SK on January 9, 1930, to Carl and Mary Schmunk. She had seven brothers: Henry, Carl, Ed, Bob, Harold, George and Len; and one sister: Elsie. She met and married the love of her life Peter Polupski in 1948 and raised four children: Patricia, Kenneth, Larry, and Lorne. Irene was a hard working woman that waitressed for many years at the Harwood Hotel. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that made certain everyone was well cared for. Irene took great pride in keeping her home and yard looking its best. Irene is predeceased by her husband Peter. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her children: Patricia (Les) Mathews and their family: Denise (Terry) Syms and their children: Mathew, Victoria, and Miranda; and Chris (Linda) Mathews and their daughters: Felicity and Trinity Rose; Ken and his family: Jennifer (Mike Cato) and their son Matthew, Julie, Jamie (Derrick Thorne) and their daughter Makayla; Larry (Jana) and their family: Brock, Ryan, Tyler, Cody, and Evan; and Lorne (Colleen) and their daughter Jillian. In keeping with Irene’s wishes, a family graveside service will be held at a later date. For those so wishing, memorial donations to the Sask.
