Passed peacefully away on Friday at the Health Science Center, St. John's, George Downey of Winterton age 72 years Predeceased by daughter Sherri Sooley. Leaving to mourn his wife of 51 years, Dorothy (nee Andrews), son Rodney (Susan) and son in law Terry Sooley. Two beloved grandchildren, Kendall Sooley and Nicholas Downey. Brothers Roy (Elsie) Comax, B.C. Wilson (Rose) Harbour Grace. Sisters Muriel Vardy, St. John's, Hazel (George) Green, Whitehorse, Yukon and Sandy White, Whitehorse, Yukon. And many other relatives and friends. Resting at Green's Funeral Home, Winterton. Visiting hours Sunday 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monday 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday October 28 at 2:00 from the Salvation Army Lower Trinity Corp, Winterton. Interment to follow in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Winterton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Epilepsy Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
