Stymiest, James E. (1944-2013) It is with profound sadness that the family announce his passing on October 19th, 2013 at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton AB at the age of 69. Born in Blythe, England, he moved to Tabusintac after WWII, where his mother was a war bride. He leaves to mourn his loss wife Nancy (Trenholm); four wonderful and precious sons Martin (Jenny) of Edmonton, AB, Merle (Laura) of Edmonton, AB, James Jr. (Joelle) of Halifax, NS, and Ephriam of Edmonton, AB. He also leaves to mourn his loss four brothers Lorne (Twila) of Westlock, AB, Terry (Marcia) of Wetaskiwin, AB, Barry (Louise) of Drayton Valley, AB, and Dennis (Mary) of Priceville, NB; two sisters Beryl Ann (Shirley) of Bangor, ME, and Greta (Marvin) of Fredericton, NB; two uncles Lorne of Bathurst,NB and Benson (Mauna) of Tabusintac,NB; three granddaughters Dakotah, Meaghan, and Olivia; two grandsons Nicholas, and Brayden; and three step granddaughters Ashley, Samantha, and Maddalena. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Betty Trenholm, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many good friends, especially David and Lillian MacWilliam of Tabusintac, NB, and Arnold and Mary Trevors of Miramichi, NB. Besides his parents Earl and Ella (Leightley), he was predeceased by his brother Robert. Journeyman lineman by trade, Jim worked for various companies such as Delta Electric, EJ Ludford, Emera Utility Services, and most recently RS Lines of Alberta. Jim was a proud member of IBEW. He also owned Independent Lines with his partner Elmer Fayle, also deceased. Achieving his Hydro Hot Line training in East Liverpool, Ohio through Hoosier Engineering, Jim soon became a perfectionist in his trade. A respected Lineman, Jim served as a mentor to many men and women over the years. He retired from NB Power in a management position and one of his greatest joys was his work. Jim was valedictorian of his graduating class, and with the voice of an Angel, sang in the United Church Choir of Tabusintac. His other passions included hunting and fishing.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 2 pm, at Riverside Cemetery in Tabusintac. Following the service, a reception will take place at the United Church Hall by the UCW of Tabusintac. As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
