After a courageous battle with cancer, Maura passed away with her family at her side, in Shorncliffe Hospice, Sechelt, BC. 
Much loved and admired, she is survived by her sons Frank (Andrea Davenport) of Langley, BC; Michael (Jennifer and grandchildren Douglas and Elora) of Victoria, BC; and her daughter Lynn (Kenan MacKenzie, Sarah and Erin) of Roberts Creek, BC.  Predeceased by her beloved husband Peter (2008) and son Patrick (1984). 
Mom was born in Ireland and moved to Canada at the age of three. Raised in Victoria, she attended St. Ann’s Academy and eventually made her way to UBC where she met Dad.  They were married in the summer of 1958.  After living in Medicine Hat, AB, Esterhazy, SK, Calgary, AB, and Surrey, BC, Mom and Dad moved to Sechelt in 2005.  Mom was a remarkable woman, raising four children, and earning her CGA, all while Dad was away from home on one of his many business trips.  Her grace, humour, sense of family and sage advice will be missed. 
The family would like to thank Mom’s dear friend Carol Green for her support during a difficult time.  We would also like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at the Shorncliffe Hospice.  The remarkable care and compassion with which Mom was treated is greatly appreciated.  We are unable to thank you enough.

A celebration of Maura’s life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, November 23, at St. Bartholomew’s, 659 North Road, Gibsons, BC.
