Linda Catherine Marie Steiger (MacKinnon), age 56 years of Whitecourt, AB, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 29, 2013.
Linda was born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia on May 29, 1957 to proud parents Johnny and Betty Steiger. She attended Breton Education Center.
Linda married Rick MacKinnon on July 28, 1981. Shortly after, they moved to Whitecourt where they raised four children. Linda will be lovingly remembered for her smile, her laugh and the way she walked. She took great pride in being a hockey mom and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Linda put all of her love and ambition into her children, and always made sure they never did without. Her favorite time of year was Christmas; she loved to decorate and listen to Christmas music. Linda worked very hard as a day home provider for 13 years to help support her family.
Linda is survived by her children, Connie, Kelly (Trisha), Crystal (Chad) and Courtney (Dane); grandchildren, Bailey, Trey, Brooke, Seth, Bodi, Gjoa, Jersey and Jalissa; father, Johnny (Diane); sisters, Debbie (Joe) and Bev; and brother, Billy (Cathy). Linda was predeceased by her mother, Betty and her brother, John Wayne.
Our entire family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Thank you to Park Memorial for helping us honour our mother. Anybody wishing to send donations or flowers, please send to 4809 - 47 Avenue, Mayerthorpe, AB T0E 1N0.

Thank you mom, for all that you have done,
You took great care of your daughters and son.
You loved us all from the very start,
With your warm, kind and loving heart.
Thank you mom, for being so strong,
While trying to teach us right from wrong.
If anytime we had a problem,
You were there to help us solve them.
You’d lift us up, when we were feeling blue,
Thank you mom, we could always count on you.
You were such an awesome mother,
The love you showed was like no other.
Thank you mom, for your dear, sweet love,
Now you’ll watch over us from heaven above.
