FERGUSON: Alma Synnove aged 87 years of Stewart Valley, SK passed away on November 4, 2013 at the Cypress Regional Hospital. A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from the First United Church. Alma is survived by her husband, Douglas Ferguson; sons, Dennis (Erna Gail), Greg (Kathy) and Garth (Val); grandchildren, Ryan (Karen), Lonny (Kristin), Jenna (Kyle), Shawna (Evan), Adam (Sherril) and Cortney (Ian); great grandchildren, Alexia, Emily, Cody, Grace, Jordan and Brodyn; brother, Art (Sue) Hovdestad; sister, Gay Wall; brothers-in-law, Les (Edna) King and Dave (Eileen) Ferguson; sisters-in-law, Vi King, Doris King and Joanne Hovdestad; as well and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Sina Hovdestad; her first husband, Charles King; son, Randy King; brothers, Jim, Roy, Ivan and Bruce; sisters, Solveig, Rose and Elsie; brothers-in-law, Ed Saxton, Paul Redmond, Sig Olson, John Wall, Aleri Scott, Garnet King and Roy King; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Hovdestad, Helen Hovestad, Mardi Hovdestad and Audrey Scott. Alma attended Hovdestad School. She was united in marriage to Charles King from 1948 to 1957, and then to Douglas Ferguson from 1959 to present. She was an active member in the U.C.W., Stewart Valley Green Thumb Horticulture, Stewart Valley Bridge Club, Stewart Valley Book Club, and Happy Valley Seniors Club. She had special interests in farming and horticulture, and especially in her grandchildren. Donations maybe made to the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Health Care Foundation in Alma's memory.
