It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Janet on November 8, 2013 at the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, at the age of 28. Janet is survived by her parents Karen and Bernie Morbeck; her fiancé Harold Harvey; his mother Theresa; his brothers Gordon, Steven, Terry, and their families; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides; grandmothers Mary Morbeck and Patsy Porter; as well as Janet’s birth parents and half-siblings. Janet was born October 31, 1985 in Regina and adopted as a baby by Karen and Bernie Morbeck of Harris, SK. Janet grew up on the family farm in the Bents area of Harris. After graduating high school Janet took an accounting course at SIAST in Moose Jaw. She liked Moose Jaw and after graduating worked for Liberty Tax, Taylor Toyota, and DM Wenaus & Co. She made friends while playing pool and darts, and as a member of SCA (Society for Creative Anachronisms). She also enjoyed the trivia night at Bobby’s Place every Thursday. Janet was diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2011. Through chemotherapy and 2 surgeries she fought a courageous battle with the disease. Many thanks to all the doctors and nurses she met along the way. A Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday November 14, 2013 at 1:30 pm. Father Rick Krofchek will officiate. A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday evening at the Chapel at 7:00 pm. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St.W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2. In living memory of Janet, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
