VICTORIA, BC – It is with great sadness that we announce that after a strong, determined and well fought fight with cancer, Rick passed away peacefully at his home on 17th October 2013 in Victoria, BC.
The pride of Rick’s life was his son Richie, their shared love of hockey was a strong thread through their short 13 years together. They created a wealth of fond memories attending numerous Vancouver Canucks and BC Lions games. Rick will be remembered for the unique way he touched each and everyone’s life. His quick wit, unfailing positive attitude and endless capacity to forgive were only surpassed by his loyalty to family and friends.
Rick will be dearly missed by those left behind including, his son Richie, cherished partner Christine Black and her children Andrea and Thomas, mother Shirley Pennington, father Bill Davidson, brothers Bill and Jamie, sister Shirlee (Francis), step-children Brett and Brianna Carmichael (mother Tracy), cousin Donna DesBarres (Randy) and numerous other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at the New Glasgow Legion on Saturday, November 16 at 2 p.m. All are welcome.
