It is with very heavy hearts and fond memories we announce the passing of our mother.
Ma passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Born in New Waterford, Phoebe was the daughter of the late Hubert and Mary Ann (McNeil) Dalton.
She was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, and also, St. John’s Church, New Aberdeen. Ma was a woman of great faith. Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed watching “Corrie” on television and Wednesday TV bingo. She was an exceptional baker and her apple pies were second to none. Ma loved a good cup of tea with her family. She looked forward to her weekly phone calls from away. Phoebe took great pride in being an 'elite' dart player.
Ma will be sadly missed by her loving children, Mary Jo, Teresa, Willena, Jimmy, all of Glace Bay, Junior (Hilda), St. Catharines, Ont.; sister, Irene (George) Murphy, Toronto, Ont.; seven cherished grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several stepchildren.
Besides her parents, Phoebe was predeceased by her first husband, William Fahey, second husband, Francis McDonald, two children in infancy, a grandchild, in infancy and son-in-law, Roddie MacKillop.
As per Ma’s wishes, there will be private visitation only. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Glace Bay.
