It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bertha (Bertina) White announce her peaceful passing at home, surrounded by her loving children. Bertina was predeceased by her husbands, Gervase White (1950) and Patrick White (1990), parents Patrick and Anna Hall of Three Rock Cove, four brothers and five sisters. She leaves to mourn sons: Hector (Mary), Telesphore (Debbie), Gervase (Reshelda), Kevin (Wanda) and Gerry (late Ellen White), daughters: Alice (Randy) LeDrew, Anne (Bernard) Downey, Rita (Dean) Roberts, Elizabeth (Stephen) Tate, Patricia Hache, Isabelle (David) Tholl and Barbara (Paul Dickens) White, brothers: Angus (Carol) Hall and Kevin (Inez) Hall, sisters: Mary (Pius) Dennis and Perpetua (Fintan) Marche, 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a large circle of loving relatives and friends with a special mention of close friends Cecelia Burke and Hugh Marche. Bertina will be remembered as a gentle soul with a strong Catholic faith. She was an adventurous woman who loved to travel and spend time with her family. She had an active social life and loved to walk at Port Harmon and spend time playing cards with family and friends. Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 14th from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, November 15th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street, Stephenville. Interment will take place on Saturday, November 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville.
