David (Dave) Primmer
Passed on: November 9th, 2013
Suddenly, at his home in Ottawa on Saturday, November 9th, David at the age of 51.
David is the beloved son of Betty (nee Mullins) and Rex Primmer. Dear brother to Brenda, Bev (Doug McKee), Karl (Mary), and Steve. Special uncle to Ryan McKee, Dan and Sam Primmer. David will always be remembered as a kind and gentle man. He will be greatly missed by all members of his extended family clan and friends.
As a young man David started his career in maintenance, then trained in IT and moved to Ottawa where he worked in the high tech sector. He was an avid golfer, ardent "sports-watching" enthusiast, dedicated volunteer at Woodroffe United, but above all else – a passionate Atlantic salmon fly fisherman. Fishing on the Gander River every summer with his father, brothers and friends was something that David treasured. He never lost his love for Newfoundland and Labrador, spoke proudly of his heritage to anyone who would listen (and even to those who wouldn't!).
Friends may visit Stacey's Funeral Home in Gander on Saturday, November 16th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A private service for family and friends will follow on Sunday. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Woodroffe United Church in Ottawa on November 28th at 10:30 a.m. Donations in David’s memory can be made to Epilepsy Newfoundland and Labrador or to Woodroffe United Church, Ottawa, Ontario. As per David’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Condolences and tributes can be made at www.staceysfuneralhome.ca or www.mcgarryfamily.ca.
