HECTOR (BUD) MACINNES
On November 12, 2013, Bud MacInnes died peacefully at home, surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his daughter Kathy MacInnes and survived by his wife Judy and daughters Cindy MacInnes (Trevor), Teresa MacInnes (Kent Nason) and Jude MacInnes (David Moses). Bud was a devoted husband and father who had a great love for his family. He instilled a great sense of Scottish heritage, social justice and strength in his daughters and was a great support to each of them throughout their lives. He deeply loved his grandchildren, Caitlin, Davin, Hector, Archie, Laura, Julie and Tim. Bud was the third child of Mary and Alan MacInnes, who were from the Outer Hebrides in the Highlands of Scotland. He is predeceased by his brother Donald and sisters Raebelle and Catherine. He is survived by his brother Michael MacInnes (Marnie).
Bud worked in several trades and was a business owner, but perhaps his greatest accomplishment was the time he spent as Union President for the Grain Workers, Local 333. He was a relentless advocate for the workers he represented, helping and inspiring many people along the way. The family would like to thank Dr. Mentz and Petrina and Gwen from the palliative care team. A prayer and funeral service was held on Nov. 19 and 20 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gibsons, BC. If you wish, please make a donation to your local food bank in Bud's memory.
