It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Rita Emmond on October 18, 2013 at the home of her daughter Renee Tucker, with her daughter at her side. Rita was born in Glace Bay to the late Robert and Annie Devison. She is survived by daughters Renee (Norman), Winnipeg, Jeanette (Armond), Sasketchewan, Gail (Sidney), Alberta, Ann, Sydney, son Robert, Swan River, Manitoba, 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, also numerous nieces and nephews. Rita is also survived by sisters Marie Stashuk, B.C., Josie Burke, Sydney Road, Sis MacDonald, Glace Bay. Rita was predeceased by husband John Emmond in 1994, sons-in-law Dennis and Leonard, brothers Buddy Devison, Raymond and Ignatious Devison in infancy, sisters Stasia Deveaux, Evelyn Devison and Annie Devison. Cremation has taken place with burial in Manitoba at a later date. Although she lived in Manitoba her heart was in Cape Breton.
