BREMNER, EDITH M. - 1916 - 2013 - Miramichi - Edith Marjorie Bremner, widow of the late George A. Bremner, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home and formerly of the North Napan Road, passed away at her residence on Wednesday afternoon, November 20, 2013, at the age of 97. Born in Black River Bridge, on February 10, 1916, she was the daughter of the late James and Jean (Allen) Cameron. She was a homemaker; a dedicated member of St. Pauls Presbyterian Church, Black River Bridge; a life member of the Womens Missionary Society of her church; A member of the Golden Circle Senior Citizens Club; a member of the Northumberland Liberal Assoc. She enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting, singing and scrapbooking of newspaper clippings. She is survived by five daughters, Dorothy Taylor, of Miramichi, Marjorie Sweezey (Carl), of Moncton, Janet Cobb (Bill), of Miramichi, Ruth Walsh, of Wainwright, AB, Karen Hudon (Sylvain), of Orleans, Ont.; one son, David Bremner (Linda), of Napan; one sister, Blanche Whitlock, of Toronto, Ont.; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1986; two sons in law, Malcolm Taylor and Jack Walsh; six sisters, Dorothy Lockerbie, Rita Coates, Isabel Makie, Elspeth MacDonald, Iona Fowlie, Wilma Fraser; four brothers, Dougal, John, Allen and Kenneth Cameron.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Friday evening, from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Sunday, November 25, 2013, at 3 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi.
