SEARS, FREDERICK "FRED" G. - Frederick "Fred" G. Sears, 91, of Moncton, beloved husband of Winnifred (Cormie) Sears, passed away peacefully at The Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Garfield and Martha (Berry) Sears. Fred was retired Regional Sales Manager for Borden Cattelli Ltd. with 45 years service. The last 10 years of service he served as a consultant for the company in the Boston and surrounding New England area. He was an avid golfer at The Moncton Golf and Country Club since 1969. In earlier years, Fred enjoyed hunting and fishing as his hobbies. A Veteran of WWII, served with the 17th Field Regiment of the 5th Division, Canadian Army in Italy, France, Netherlands and Germany (1942 – 1945). He was an active member of the Riverview Veterans and Armed Forces Association and a member of Jones Lake Baptist Church. Besides his loving wife, Winnifred, of 62 years, Fred will be sadly missed by his daughter, Elizabeth McFadden Wilson (Jerry) of Moncton; precious grandchildren, Scott McFadden (Jennifer), Benjamin McFadden (Nicole) and Karolyn Davies (Stuart); cherished great grandchildren, Ethan, Ryan, Kyle, Taylor, Jordan and Amelia; sister, Jacqueline Royden of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two great grandchildren, Faith and Lawrence; sisters, Norma, Blanche and Helen.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Riverview Veterans and Armed Forces Association Memorial Service on Sunday at 5:00 pm. Funeral service at Jones Lake Baptist Church (Upton St. and Westmount Blvd.) on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Paul Fosmark officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Fred’s memory, donations to the Jones Lake Baptist Church, Dr. Georges-L.
