WILSON-It is with great sadness that the family of Eunice Wilson (nee Caswell), aged 89, announce her passing on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Palliser Regional Care Center, Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Eunice was predeceased by her parents, Roswell and Donis Caswell, her husband Frank Wilson, brother Robert Caswell and an infant brother Gordon Caswell. She is survived by her son Ronley (Patty) Wilson of Abbotsford, British Columbia and daughter Judy (Darryl) Polsfut of Swift Current as well as grandchildren Barry (Melissa) Wilson and great-granddaughter Emily Wilson, Delea (Tony) Carrillo, all of Vancouver, British Columbia, Dustin Polsfut of Swift Current, Karla Polsfut of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Brandie Polsfut of Lethbridge, Alberta. She is also survived by her sister Eileen Nygaard of Nelson, British Columbia, brother, Ron (Eleanor) Caswell of Bracken, Saskatchewan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eunice was born in Scotsguard, Saskatchewan on June 25, 1924, and grew up on a farm north of Bracken. She worked in several banks after she finished school, before she married Frank in 1948. They owned and operated Wilson Brothers International Harvester Dealership and Esso Service Station in Bracken, as well as farming. In 1966, they moved to Swift Current, where Frank became part owner of Southwest Equipment Ltd. In 1973, they sold their shares in the business and moved back to Bracken to continue farming. In 1985 they retired to Swift Current. Eunice lived independently in her condo following Frank’s death in 1990, until she moved to Riverview Estates in 2010. Due to failing health, she moved to Palliser Regional Care Center in April 2013. She was extremely delighted with the care she received there and often told family how compassionate all of the staff members were. Nursing staff, housekeeping, kitchen, and therapy staff – she appreciated not only the care they provided, but the time they each spent getting to know her. It did not take long for her to say “this is home!” Eunice was a voracious reader and spent much of her spare time reading, very likely reading more books in one month than most people do in a lifetime. She also enjoyed visiting with friends on the phone, and having friends and family stop in for a cup of coffee. Eunice will be lovingly missed and remembered by friends and family for having a wicked sense of humour, and providing many laughs for those who had the privilege of knowing her. All of your family is very sad to see you go, but we hope that you are happy to be reunited with your dear friends, and that you are finally having another long awaited dance with Frank. A private memorial service will be held in the spring where she will be placed to rest with her husband at Bracken Cemetery.
