SCHWETZ, IRENE MAE- Irene Mae Schwetz(nee Dunfield), 87, of Petitcodiac, passed at the Moncton Hospital on November 22, 2013. Born in Corn Hill, she was a daughter of the late Ora and Bertha (nee Harper) Dunfield. Irene worked for the Federal Treasury Board and the Federal Department of Agriculture, retiring after 28 years of service. She was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, and was a Dominion Life Member of the Helen Hahn Women’s Missionary Society. Irene is survived by her husband, Tennesea Schwetz; her sister, Helen Beaman (Paul) of Prosser Brook; her brothers: Everett Dunfield of Fredericton, Guy Dunfield (Betty) of Corn Hill, and Vaughn Dunfield (Shirley) of Fredericton; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Schwetz; as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Besides her parents, Irene was predeceased by her sister, Sara Lounsbury; her sisters-in-law: Marlene Dunfield and Katrina LaFleche; and her brothers-in-law: Floyd Lounsbury and William Schwetz.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, from where visitation will be held on Monday November 25, 2013 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 26, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Petitcodiac Baptist Church with Pastor David Woodworth and Pastor Robert MacDonald presiding. Interment will be held in the Corn Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Donations to the Helen Hahn Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
