FORTUNE, Emily Myrtle -63, of Cowan Street, Westville, and formerly of Plainfield, Pictou County, passed away November 20, 2013. Born in Pictou, she was a daughter of the late John Austin & Elizabeth Myrtle (Reid) Fortune. Emily was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by daughters, Lori Slaunwhite and Leah (Frenchie) Giraldo, both of Toronto; grandchildren, Matthew and Sydney Slaunwhite, Emma and Owen Giraldo; sisters, Anne and Fern (Clayton), both of St. Catharines, Ontario; brother, Charlie, Scotch Hill. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Evelyn; brothers, Albert, Eugene, Wilson, Hugh, and Allan. There will be no visitation by request. A private service will be held in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Scotsburn.
