Passed peacefully away on Friday, November 22 at the Health Sciences Complex, Mona Callahan aged 75 years, formerly of Flat Island, Bonavista Bay. Predeceased by mother Meta and father Lance Ralph. Left with fond and loving memories, husband of 49 years Russell; two sons: Lance (Joanne) St. John’s, William (Fredré) Houston; two grandchildren: Danté, Rouxlé; sister: Marilyn (Ross) Mercer; nephews: Nath Mercer, Jason Mercer; niece Denise (Darren) Baker, and other relatives and friends. Remembered as a longtime teacher at Bishop’s College, St. John’s, a volunteer of Emmaus House food bank and faithful member of the Altar Guild of St. Michael and all Angels Anglican Parish, St. John’s. Cremation has taken place at Mona’s request. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation will take place on Sunday and Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel.
