Farr, Laura Rebecca – 92, Old Barns
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Laura Farr on November 21, 2013 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in East Walton on October 5, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Jessie (Curwin) Brown. She moved to Truro in her late twenties to become a secretary at the Normal College. She left to marry Harry in 1952. After retirement from the farm, they did a lot of travelling. Laura is survived by her daughter, Pat Archibald; son, Brian (Connie) Farr; grandchildren, Kelley and Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Logan (12), Joshua (8), Braeden (6) and Arlynn (1); brother, Blair (Shirley) Brown; sister, Marg Brown; brother-in-law, Elliott Daniels; several nieces and nephews, including nephew, Don MacKenzie who she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry (2003); brother, Bert (2008) and sister, Jean (2013). Cremation has taken place. No visitation at her request. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 24 at 2 pm in Old Barns United Church with Rev. Ian Harrison officiating. Private family interment in Old Barns Cemetery. Family flowers only.
