The death occurred peacefully at his late residence, Summerside, on Friday, November 22, 2013 of Leland Joshua Murray, formerly of Conway, aged 93, beloved husband of "Gertrude" Elizabeth (nee Coughlin) Murray. Born in Springhill June 20, 1920, son of the late Embelton and Lena (Waite) Murray. Dear step father to Allison Rushton, Vancouver, BC; Margaret (Fraser) Squires, Summerside; Helen MacKendrick (Norman Arsenault), Summerside; Joe Casey (Eleanor Ramsay), Miscouche; Barbara (Tom) Bradshaw, Conway; Gail (Rene) Arsenault, Wilmont; Maxine Casey ("Bert" Harry Burton), Summerside; Stanley Casey, Charlottetown; Kim (Rory) Curran, Ellerslie and Karen (John) Rank, Conway. Loving step grandfather to 27 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren. Leland is also survived by his son in law Tony Costanti, St Catherine’s, brother Ralph (Alice) Murray, Springhill and sister in law Lia Murray, Ellerslie. Predeceased by his parents, 1st wife Norma, step daughter Faith Rushton, step son Mark Casey, brothers Keith, Stanley, Alfred (Bessie) and Roy in infancy. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel, Tyne Valley with visiting hours Sunday, Nov. 24, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral service Monday, Nov. 25, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow in the People’s Cemetery, Victoria West. In memory of Leland, memorials to the Stewart Memorial Hospital or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
