RABIK: Mike Rabik, age 81, of Swift Current, SK passed away November 19, 2013 at the Swift Current Care Centre. The Memorial Service was held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 23, 2013 from Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Richard Jasiak MSF officiating. The organist was Marlene Dolter and Psalmist was Sherman Veitenheimer. First reading was given by granddaughter Stacey Rabik and second reading was given by granddaughter, Katelyn McAuliffe. Intentions were read by Sean McAuliffe, Keegan McAuliffe and Brendon Busato. Words of Remembrance of Mike's life were given by Stacey Rabik, Scott Lee, Bill Lee and Michelle McAuliffe. Honourary Pallbearers were all who shared in Mike's life. Mike is survived by his wife of 60 years, Camille; his children Debby (Bill) Lee, Michelle (John) McAuliffe, Michael (Diane) Rabik, Bryan (Cindy) Rabik, Denise (Robert Busato) Rabik; Mike's grandchildren Stacey, Katelyn, Sean, Keegan, Scott, Brendon, Emily, Kaitlyn and Shannon. Mike is survived by one sister Irene White of Duncan, B.C. and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Valent and Mary; sister Helena and brother William. Mike was born on January 29, 1932 in Cereal, AB. after his parents had immigrated to Canada and settled there. He began school in Cereal and later moved to Three Hills, AB where he graduated from grade twelve and began working for the Canadian National Railway. He met and married Camille Bourque from neighbouring Trochu in 1953. After numerous transfers, Mike and Camille settled in Lloydminster to raise their five children. In 1975 they moved to Swift Current to operate the Healy Hotel. Mike will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends.
