At the Colville Manor, Souris, the passing of Mark Edward Smith, age 91, of Mt. Stewart, formerly of St. Teresa, beloved husband of 35 years to Catherine (nee MacGillivray) Smith, occurred Monday, November 25, 2013.
Born July 13, 1922, in St. Teresa he was a son of the late Michael and Catherine (McQuaid) Smith. Besides his wife, Catherine, Mark is survived by a sister, Rita Quinn; sister-in-law, Marion Gallant; brother-in-law, Francis (Annie) MacGillivray; special niece, Kathy (Sheldon) Peters; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, John Smith, Fr. Jim Smith, Herman Smith, Joe Smith; sisters, Mary Dunphy and Sr. Helen Smith.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting hours on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, November 28, 2013, from St. Cuthbert’s Catholic Church, St. Teresa, at 10 a.m. Interment to take place in the parish cemetery.
