It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the loss of our beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, sister-in-law and friend to many; Linda Ann Slade who passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born, May 28, 1954, in Glace Bay, Linda was the daughter of Euphemia Bryden (nee Petrie) and the late Gerald Bryden.
She was a member of Saint Anne Parish Church.
Linda worked over 40 years doing what she loved; hairdressing and making lots of friends along the way. She worked in several hair dressing shops and the Seaview Manor.What she loved the most was doing hair and welcoming many ladies in her home; it was more of a friendship than a job to Linda.
An amazing mother and a very caring and compassionate lady, Linda was a very giving person, always thinking about others. She took pride in family visits and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren in which she adored.
Linda will be sadly missed by her five children, Margaret (Glen), Middle Sackville, Allan (Tammy), Glace Bay, Lindsay, Glace Bay, Rosie (Adam), Yarmouth, Darryl, Glace Bay, and her husband Doug, Mississauga, Ont.
Linda is also survived by her grandchildren, Aislin, Keegan, Hailee, Shelby, Sloane, Xavier, Olivia, Ava and her brother, Ronnie (Geralda), Calgary.
She will be sadly missed by several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, Linda was predeceased by her brother, Gerald.
Linda's memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. The funeral mass will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Anne’s Church with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. Interment at St. Leo's Cemetery followed by a reception in the church foyer, Main Street, Glace Bay. All are welcome to attend.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
