BELL, Lynne “Diane” (Balish), 61, of Lockeport and Lakeside, passed away peacefully at home in Lockeport, with all of her family at her side, on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Born in Roseway Hospital, Shelburne, on September 7, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Harold V. Balish Sr. and Winnifred E. (Hines) Balish. She lived and loved life to the fullest and was always the life of the party. She was known best by her family as “The First Spice Girl Ever”. She had many, many friends from her childhood and throughout the years who she loved with all her heart, and she wanted you all to know how much she appreciated you for allowing her to be a part of your lives. After high school she attended Miss Murphy`s Business College in Halifax, where she lived and worked for most of her life. She was predeceased by infant daughter, Danielle Susan and her parents Harold and Winnifred (Hines) Balish. She will be always remembered and forever in the hearts of her family; daughters, Nicole and Alicia (Barry Whiting), all of Halifax; siblings, Harold, Linda (Robert Hardiman), Kent (Sybil Foster), all of Lockeport; Craig, Toronto; Kevin, Michael (Julie Locke), Dana (Brian Nickerson), all of Lockeport, and Shirley (Allen Bailey) Lantz; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital, Halifax, in memory of Danielle Susan Bell, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks for all of the wonderful care given to Diane by the Doctors, VON, Care Givers, nurses and to all who helped.
