John Gerald Langille
Langille, John Gerald – 91, Willow Lodge Home for Special Care, Tatamagouche, passed away peacefully December 2, 2013 in the Lodge. Gerald, as he was known to most, was born September 27, 1922 to Bert and Annie (Aitchison) Langille in New Annan, Nova Scotia. Gerald leaves his sons, Gerald, and his wife, Sharon and their daughters, Jennifer Elliott (Donnie) and Jaimie; Ronald, and his wife , Mary and their daughter, Heather; sister-in-law, Dolly Langille; nephews, Bert Langille (Trudy), Bill Meikle (Marion), Bob Meikle (Bonnie); nieces, Heather Spanks (Kenny), Kathy Knoll (Bill); Sandra Murphy (Donnie); many beloved cousins. Besides his parents, Gerald is predeceased by his wife, Betty; brother, Ted. Gerald married Betty (Hutchings) in 1943 and had three sons, Edward, who died at birth, Gerald and Ronald. They moved their family to the United States in 1959 and Gerald worked for a construction company and later a wrecking company until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed cars, gardening and camping, but especially enjoyed his granddaughters, Heather, Jennifer and Jaimie. After his wife’s death, he moved back to Tatamagouche, there, he renewed his love for his childhood friend, Mary (Carroll) Lepper and spent thirteen years together and enjoyed each other’s families. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2013 in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche (657-3288). Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 9 in the New Annan Heritage House (formerly the West New Annan United Church) in West New Annan. Interment will take place later in Springbrook Cemetery, Mansfield, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Willow Lodge Home for Special Care would be appreciated.
