E. Rea Macdiarmid, age 91, passed away December 5, 2013. Mom was born April 29, 1922 in Moose Jaw to Mossum and Amy Germain. She served with the WD – RCAF in World War II. She was a member of the Princess Patricia Club, a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, serving on the Poppy Committee and foot clinic for many years, and was a longtime volunteer for the Canadian Red Cross. She is predeceased by her parents, husband RJ (Ian), son Rod, brother Doug (Kay) Germain, sister Doris (Gord) Hurlburt and son-in-law Art Erickson. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Erickson; her grandchildren James, Sarah (Jeff and his son Jake), and Amy (Breton); great-grandchildren Dallas and Cheyanne; and extended family. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel, Wednesday December 11, 2013 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Jim Tenford will officiate. Royal Canadian Legion Rites will be conducted at the Chapel by Chuck MacMillan. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Poppy Fund, c/o the Royal Canadian Legion, 268 High St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 1S8.
