Passed peacefully away at home in his beloved Brigus on December 7, 2013, in the presence of his loving family, David Churchill Jerrett aged 86 yrs. Retired Secretary of the Fisheries Board and Veteran of World War 11. Predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Ruth (Michelin) Jerrett, son, Bruce (deceased 1955) and sister, Betty. Leaving to mourn his wife of 66 years Georgie, daughter, Carolyn (Bill) Hiscock, sons, Rod (Bernadette), Ern (Karen), Peter (Debbie), Loving Pop to grandchildren, Gillian (Jeff) MacFarlane, Bruce (Megan) Hiscock, Matthew, Andrew, Mark, Shana, Peter, and Toni Jerrett and great-grandchildren, Dakota and Parker MacFarlane and Georgia Hiscock. Also leaving to mourn brothers, Wilburt (Mary deceased), George (Janet) and Charlie (Mary), sisters, Grace, Mary Elaine (Tom), Ruth (Byron deceased),Marion, Dana (Tom), Patricia (Frank deceased), Linda (Michael) and Nancy (Charles), brothers-in-law, Max Camp (Jean) and Jack Urich. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of other family and friends. Dave will always be fondly remembered for many things: his love and generosity especially to his family, his love of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, his enjoyment of a good book, his delicious homemade bread, his love of berry picking and bike riding, his memories and stories of Labrador and his many years as a member of the Brigus Bruins hockey team. Resting at Broughton's Funeral Home, Brigus with visitation Wednesday, December 11th and Thursday, December 12th from 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. and Friday, December 13th from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Funeral service to be held at Broughton's Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 13th at 2:00 p.m.. Inurnment at St. George's Anglican Cemetery, Brigus. No flowers by request donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation .
