Mandy peacefully went to be with the Lord on December 6th, 2013. She was 81 years old.

Mom was born in Winkler, Manitoba on February 3rd, 1932. She was the 9th of ten children. As a young teen she and her family moved to Chilliwack, and it was there she met Mike, at a summer picnic for the employees of the Sumas Prairie berry plant. They were married on August 10th, 1951 and together raised their three children in Chilliwack, and then in Kamloops.

Mom was a loving wife, mother, grandma, oma and friend. She lived her life with such grace and selflessness. She touched the lives of those who knew her with her kindness, laughter, and no shortage of good baking. She enjoyed simple pleasures - poetry, gardening. She was the first Ladies President of the North Kamloops Lions Club, a member of the Kamloops Golf & Country Club, and an active member of the Kamloops Alliance Church.

A Celebration of Mom's life will be held on Thursday, December 12th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kamloops Alliance Church, 233 Fortune Drive, Kamloops, B.C., reception to follow at the Church.

Dr. Howie's care over the years is very much appreciated by the family. The family is also so thankful to each staff member at the Kamloops Hospice House for their gracious care of Mom.
