BENNER, Mildred Iola “Millie” - Age 77, of Windsor, passed away suddenly, with her loving family by her side, Monday, December 9, 2013 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on April 26, 1936 she was a daughter of the late George M. and Margaret E. (Caldwell) Harvey. Millie was a seamstress at the Windsor Textiles for 15 years and then she owned and operated “Millie’s Take-Out” canteen in St. Croix for several years. She loved dancing, baking and quilting. Her family was the centre of her universe. Millie is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Benner, Windsor; daughter, Tina Marie Crowell (Glenn Shupe), St. Croix; grandsons, Dustin and Clint Crowell; brother, Angus (Carol) Harvey, Wentworth Rd; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son-in-law, Rodd Crowell; brother, George “Dorby” Harvey; foster brother, Blaine Bourgoyne; sisters, Phyllis Smith and Alexa Smith. Arrangements were entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A private family graveside service was held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12 in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix, Rev. Jeffrey White officiated.
