Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013.
Hard-working and a fighter to the end Loretta was known for her kindness and compassion. Always a smile on her face and a shoulder to lean on. She loved to be active and spend time with children. Loretta spent many years working with the local Beaver troop and will be affectionately remembered as 'Rainbow' to many.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years Matt; two children, Josephine and Matthew and three grandchildren, Kristen, Carter and Blake; siblings, Betty (Henry) Gielen, Wally (Jeanette) Russell, Margie (Tom) Robinson, Debbie (Ward) Glogowski and sister-in-law, Valerie (Butch) Russell. As well as many nieces and nephews whom she cherished.
Loretta was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Bridget (Robinson) Russell, two brothers, Butch (Edward) and William and a sister, Mary.
Services to celebrate her life will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Bras d'Or on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow at the church hall.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
