VAUTOUR, ALMA - Alma Vautour, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alma Vautour, 80, at the Villa Providence, Shediac on Saturday, December 14th, 2013. Formerly of Grand-Barachois, she was born on September 27th, 1933 in Trois-Ruisseaux. She was the daughter of the late Albert “Abbé” and Philomène (Léger) Arsenault. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Edmond Gagnon and Paturel Fisheries. Alma enjoyed knitting, gardening, walking and making homemade bread every morning. She is survived by three daughters: Hélène Landry (Hermel) of Edmunston, Alberta Cormier (Jean-Paul) and Odette Richard (Paul) all of Grand-Barachois; three sons: Yvon (Laurianne) and André (Connie) all of Grand-Barachois and Marc (Rosemonde LeBlanc) of Moncton; two sisters: Huberte Throop (late Edmond) of Sackville and Bernadette Leger (Donald) of Boston, MA; nine grandchildren: Chantal, Josée, Diane, Ysabelle, Mathieu, Daniel, Sylvie, Stéphane and Shawn; four great-grandchildren: Amélie, Anyssa, Magali and Eli; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar Vautour (2005); one sister, Dorice Allain; four brothers: Marc, Adrien, René and Adrice.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shédiac (532-3297) on Tuesday, December 17th, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Henri R.C. Church in Barachois on Wednesday, December 18th, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Barachois parish cemetery. In memory of Alma, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society (Dementia) and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New-Brunswick would be appreciated.
