(1947-2013) - Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 17th, 2013, Brendan John O'Brien of St. John's (formerly of Grand Falls), aged 66 years. Predeceased by his parents Anne (nee Veitch) and James O'Brien of Holyrood. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Dianne (nee Meaney), daughters Cathy-Anne O'Brien (Gerry O'Reilly), Julie McCarthy (Kevin) and son, Daniel O'Brien. Dad "O'B" leaves five cherished grandchildren Luke, Daniel, Geri, Oscar and Nicholas. Lovingly remembered by sisters and brothers, Elizabeth Schlender (Ken) in Edmonton, Frank O'Brien (Doris) in Ottawa, Gerald O'Brien (Florence) in Grand Falls, Bill O'Brien (Adelheid) in Vancouver, Terry O'Brien in Holyrood and Marianna Lambrecht (Greg) in Vancouver; as well as brother-in-law Art Meaney (Heather) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Bren was a well liked and respected teacher for 25 years at St. Bonaventure's College. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road. Visitation to take place on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from Caul's Chapel, Thursday, December 19 at 2:30 p.m. with cremation to follow. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
