ALLEN, AVIS - Avis Stella Allen of Woodstock, NB passed away at Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at the age of 85. Avis is survived by her husband Arthur, two daughters Gloria (Eugene) Jacobs, Connie (Terry) Black; son Herbert (Elaine) Caverhill; one stepson Bruce Allen (Wendy); two stepdaughters Marjorie Dewar (Tim) and Valerie Dunlap; two sisters Shirley Kinney (Edward) and Katheline Wallace Avis was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Pearl (Chase) Thornton; sister Eldina Thornton; brother Earlin Thornton; great grandson Jordan Miller.
Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB, with visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 pm from Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leonard Cousins will be officiating, with interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
