It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul Belanger on December 15th, 2013.

Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Paul is survived by his wife of 46 years Nicole Belanger, his daughters Darlene Simpson (Gord Corrigal), Diane Lagasse (Ray Lagasse), grandsons Derek Simpson (Rachelle De-Monte), Cole Belanger (Sarah Manke), Alex Simpson (Hailee Davies) and great-granddaughter Sophia Manke. Paul is also survived by his brothers Bernadin, Ulrich, Adrien and his sister Lea.

Paul was born in Destor, QC, and moved to Kamloops in 1970 with his wife and eldest daughter. He then began his career of 32 years at Weyerhaeuser Canada as a pipe fitter and planner.

Paul has had many health issues since his battle with cancer 10 years ago, but in the end suffered a massive heart attack while in the hospital recovering from hip surgery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful ICU staff at RIH for all their hard work and compassion during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held on Saturday, December 21st, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
