With deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Guy on Monday, December 9, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Sechelt, BC.
Born and raised in a large French Canadian family in Northern Ontario, Guy grew up in Sudbury and Sturgeon Falls area. Guy made his way to Vancouver, BC where he met the love of his life, Mary-jo Kennedy, of Terrace Bay, Ontario. They married in 1981 and created a beautiful family life with their two children Daniel (Chaelyn) of Squamish and Nicole Gittins (Ryan) of Meringandan, Australia. Grandchildren Mya, Benjamin and Oliver will always remember with great delight their ‘Pere.’
Recently retired from North Vancouver to Gibsons, BC after 25 years as a journeyman painter, Guy worked tirelessly renovating their new home, their sweet oceanfront cottage.
In his precious last days, Guy was embraced by his children, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and in-laws from far and wide as they gathered to share a lifetime of memories and to say goodbye.
A memorial service for Guy will be held at the Boal Chapel, North Vancouver on Saturday, December 21, at 10 a.m.
