TONER, JOSEPH T. - At Hotel-Dieu of Saint Joseph Hospital, Perth-Andover, December 12, 2013, Mr. Joseph T. Toner of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 92 years. He was the husband of the late Kay (Cummins) Toner. Born in Grand Falls, he was a son of the late Marjorie (Savage) and Thomas M. Toner. Joseph Toner was a potato grower in Grand Falls. He has served on the local boards of the Grand Falls Hospital and Grand Falls A.C.L. and the Grand Falls Regional Development Commission. He also served on the board of NB Potato Shippers Association and Potatoes Canada. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for 70 years. Joseph is survived by six sons, Raymond (Francine), Jim (Celine), Gerald (Yvette), Tom (Cecile) of Grand Falls, Robert (Rosemary) of Woodstock and Kevin (Joanne) of Fredericton; one daughter, Jo Ann (Greg Kraft) of North Bay, Ontario; 31 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one brother, Francis (Margaret) of Grand Falls, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Emily Barrett and his brother, Father Arnold Toner.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from noon until 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls on Monday, December 16th at 2 p.m. with interment in the parish cemetery.
