With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Grace MacDonald at the Northside General Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, after a brief illness.
Born in Alder Point, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Helen Thurbide.
Grace is survived by her children, Douglas St. Catharines, Ont., Sharon (Brian) Stevens, Bridgewater, Barbara (Joe) Gracie, Millville, Ronnie (Joan), Vancouver, B.C., Peter (Debbie), Guelph, Ont., Yvonne (Bill), Florence, and Anna, at home. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her siblings, Reggie, Mill Creek, Hilda Harrietha, Mill Creek, Millie MacLean, Alder Point, and a special sister-in-law, Mae Boutilier, Little Pond.
Besides her parents, Grace was predeceased by her husband, Bill MacDonald, brothers, Stanley and Solomon, sisters, Eva McGrath and Margaret Marsh, as well as two grandchildren, Calvin MacDonald and Christopher Gracie.
Cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Stephen's Cemetery, Florence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
