Mary Snow

SNOW, MARY - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Snow (Grant) from Oromocto, New Brunswick. Mary was born on February 9th, 1925 in New Waterford, Cape Breton and was predeceased by her parents Angus and Elizabeth Grant. Mary was the second youngest of a family of eight children who have gone before her. John, Tom, Alex, Bernie, Kaye, Elizabeth, Lillian and Lee welcomed her yesterday. Mary is survived by her devoted and loving husband Cecil and she rejoiced in their 68 year marriage. She was fiercely proud of her three boys Jim, Robert and Danny and loved each of their wives Sheila, Karen and Peggy. She has 6 grandchildren Jason, Robert, Daniel, Devon, Cameron and Liam. She has one great grandchild Maria.
Mary was an active and proud member of St. Vincent de Paul parish in Oromocto where she sang in the choir, taught religious education, was a member of the bereavement team, spent two terms on the parish counsel and was a member of the CWL for 40 plus years. On her behalf she had asked us to thank the extramural nurses who provided supportive home care. Also special thanks to her family physician Dr. Cathy Woods who provided Mary and the family with loving support and care. There are no words to express Mary’s and the family’s gratitude to their best friend Father Ken Weir. She will always be remembered and dearly missed by a family that has lost their matriarch who made family and also her many friends feel special.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Sunday, December 22nd from 2 to 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 23rd, 2013 at 2 pm with Fr. Ken Weir officiating. A reception will follow the mass. Interment will take place in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Building Fund.
