Florence Kingston

KINGSTON, FLORENCE - 91, of Moncton. It is with extreme sadness that we announce her passing on Wednesday December 18, 2013 after a brief illness. Born on September 4, 1922 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Fidèle and Elise (LeBlanc) Cormier. She was the widow of the late Leigh Kingston (1991). Prior to her retirement, she was employed with the D.N.D. Supply Depot No.5, CNR, and Medical Arts Pharmacy. She was passionate about music - a lasting legacy for her children - and continued to play piano on a daily basis. Since the 1940s, she was actively involved in various musical endeavours, including the 1946 Louisiana tour by “Les Evangelines” choir, local barbershop groups, and several choirs. She is survived by three children: Claudia Kingston (David W. States) of Halifax, NS, Claire Kingston (Alain Fortin) of Québec, QC, and Marty (Phyllis) of Moncton; five sisters and brothers: Geneva Orlando (late Mike) of Fitchburg, MA, Alta Boudreau (Emery) of Hartford, CT, Bernette Cormier (late Clarence) of Dieppe, Rod Cormier (Denise) of Québec, QC, and Paul Cormier (Helen) of Moncton; four grandchildren: Simon, Annie, Patrick and Alexi; many nieces and nephews, and a great many friends who will miss her dearly.
