Peacefully, with her family by her side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, December 21, 2013, of Mrs. Norma Gillis (nee Miller) of Charlottetown, age 75 years.
Beloved wife of 51 years to William and dear mother of Brendon (Donna) of Charlottetown, Kathy (Dave) Pickles of Victoria, B.C., Peter (Barb) of Doha, Qatar, and Patty (Eric) McGuire of Charlottetown. Cherished Nana to Maryanne, Stephanie, Connor, Dunovan, Katie and Ethan. Sister of June McCarville, Anita Ayers and Eileen Keefe. Sister-in-law of Jeannie (Joe) Revell, Leah (Eric) Brown, Rosemarie Miller and Don Taylor. Norma is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Mary Miller; brothers, Ralph, Gerald and Basil Miller; sisters, Shirley MacKay and Gloria Taylor.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Tuesday, December 24, then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 12 p.m. Interment will take place later in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Members of the Catholic Women’s League will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Monday at 3:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Norma’s memory may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation.
