Passed peacefully away at Escasoni on December 25, 2013, aged 78 years, Hazel O'Reilly (nee Meech). Predeceased by her husband, Dr. Michael O'Reilly; parents, Fredrick and Hilda Meech; siblings, Dennis Meech, Phyliss Meech, Derek Meech, and Margaret Sands. Leaving with fond and loving memories her son Patrick (Christine) O'Reilly; grandson Michael; sisters, Cis Meech, Sylvia Chinnock, and Pam Lush; also leaving to mourn a wide circle of family and friends. After leaving England in 1958 to pursue a career in nursing, she embraced Newfoundland as her permanent home. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Friday December 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday December 28 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
